A new solo round-the-world race, the Arkea Ultim Challenge naturally competes with other solo sailing competitions. Without a strong historical anchor, the Arkea Ultim Challenge must exist differently, more powerfully.
Our approach, both for the naming and the expression of this new brand, has been articulated around its epic dimension. We won’t talk about the race or sporting performance, but rather about personal challenge and heroic adventure.
A true adventure filled with unforeseen events, this round-the-world journey in Ultim boats has all the elements of a Homeric odyssey. The skippers set off against the elements like heroes of ancient legends, taming boats that impress with their sheer size and speed to defy the elemental reality.
The identity and graphic territory have been designed around this thirst for adventure and intense emotions that the confrontation with the elements brings to the skippers and spectators: the power of the sea, the force of the wind, the unpredictable Nature.
Armed with a trident that suggests the structure of trimarans, the graphic symbol truly embodies the spirit of the ultimate oceanic adventure that “inspires those who depart and excites those who remain” (P. Sabine).
